Musings on Miracles and Mustard Seeds
Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about miracles.
In particular, I’ve been pondering the role that faith plays in working miracles.
After all, Jesus says in Matthew 17:20 that “if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
I find this verse both inspiring and confusing.
On the one hand, it’s a beautiful reminder that with faith, all things are possible.
On the other hand, it’s a bit perplexing because, well, where am I supposed to find a mustard seed?
I mean, I can’t very well say to the mountain, “Move from here to there,” if I don’t even have a mustard seed!
